Pairing wine and food
We look at Food and Wine pairing a little differently here at Souverain. Instead of specific recipes this is a guideline to the types of dishes that taste delicious with Souverain's wines. Though many of the traditional food and wine pairings are great, we believe that a wide variety of foods can be served with each wine.
It is critical that the food be properly seasoned, so that the flavors do not over power or change the intended flavors of the wine. Another important point is that sweetness in food is wines biggest challenge. So unless the sweetness is balanced with a little salt and acidity, it is best to look for lighter fruitier wines that handle sweetness better than stronger styles of wine.
Here we have provided some pairing guidelines to help you with your menu planning - Enjoy!
